Our purpose

Most people can name dozens of brands yet struggle to identify ten plants outside their door. Edlyst exists to close that gap. We build tools that help you recognize species, understand their roles in ecosystems, and move through landscapes with sharper attention—not to replace field guides or experts, but to meet you where you already are: phone in hand, curiosity engaged.

What we believe

Identification is a gateway. When you know a plant’s name, you notice its phenology, its pollinators, and its constraints. We treat every suggestion as an invitation to learn more, not a final verdict handed down from a black box. Transparency, source attribution, and humility in the face of biodiversity guide our product decisions.

Science and stewardship

Our reference material aligns with established taxonomy and regional floras. We design for conservation contexts: highlighting invasive species, flagging protected taxa where data allows, and encouraging leave-no-trace behavior. Edlyst is built for people who want to enjoy nature without diminishing it.
